Mac QA Engineer

What is Mac user interface QA?

The product consist of User Interface, Library, Backend Services, Telecom services etc... The product also runs on many platforms (Win, Mac, Linux, PPC, Windows Mobile, embedded Linux) Win, Mac and Linux UI is tested in Experiences QA team along with toolbars and plug-ins. We run functional black-box, white-box and services related tests on UI level. We also do sanity check and regression testing, write test plans and develop test cases. More and more we try to automate testing to increase the performance and accuracy in testing. Mac release usually a range of 50 to 150 bugs are found which have to be fixed in short time and retesting scheduled to confirm the fixes.

The position is in Experiences Quality Assurance team where Windows, Linux and Mac user interface is tested. You will report to Experiences QA manager and work together with Mac UI developers, other QA engineers testing the product and library developers or QA engineers working on core functionality of the product.

Responsibilities
• Testing functional and non-functional requirements on Mac platform
• Organizing testing from GUI to backend components
• Creating test plans and preparing test cases for feature sets and new functionality
• Automating testing where possible
• Finding, reporting and managing bugs and doing bug reviews
• Working together with developers, product- and project managers on quality issues
Pre-requisite knowledge, skills and experience
• Degree in engineering or information technology
• Testing experience, understanding about software development cycle and related components and phases
• Mac OS knowledge on heavy-user level
